Vote with Wisdom & Understanding
Famed American architect Addison Mizner said, “Ignorance of the law
excuses no man—from practicing it.” With lawyers making up 54 percent
of the Senate and 36 percent of the House, is it any wonder that the
approval rating of Congress is just above 20 percent. Would you be
able to retain your job with that level of performance? Of course
not; private sector business demands production or it doesn’t exist.
Washington does not understand business. It is run by lawyers and
career politicians with an agenda hardly recognizable to the U.S.
Constitution and plainly outside healthy boundaries. To be blunt,
they are destroying America.
Lawyers are exceptionally proficient at complicating the simple,
talking without saying anything, and suing and billing. I am not a
lawyer. I am a businessman. I understand that the truth resides in
the simple. I understand that a free market system is essential to a
thriving economy. I know that a successful operation requires a
balanced budget.
Career politicians are exceptionally proficient at complicating the
simple, saying one thing and doing another, and spending taxpayer
money as if taxpayers are too dim to notice or care. I am not a
career politician. I am a businessman. I understand that government
is the robber of wealth not the grocer or the clothier or any of the
other businesses in any town anywhere in these United States. I
understand that deficit spending is a fast-track to dark decades and
depressed generations.
Ignorance is taking over our country and it must be stopped now if we
want our children and grandchildren to experience the American dream
for which our ancestors gave their lives, their fortunes, and sacred
honor. Time is of the essence; liberty is a step away from needing
life support and the radical agenda in Washington is just waiting to
pull the plug.
One of the downsides, if you will, of how valiantly our ancestors
struggled and fought to protect the principles and values that our
great nation was founded, is that it has shielded recent generations
from full understanding of how fortunate they are to have been born in
America, and not, for example, North Korea China, or Cuba. I do not
recall sightings of American citizens jumping into the Atlantic Ocean
to find refuge in a better country. I do not recall seeing American
citizens being run over by military tanks in Times Square for speaking
out against tyrannical government policies. Not in America, but Obama
has promised to transform America, and, clearly, big changes have been
made in the last 12 months under his command and Congress’ nods.
It is human nature that you never truly appreciate your health until
you are unhealthy; you never truly appreciate your automobile until
the battery goes dead and you are stuck along the roadside in a snow
storm; you never really appreciate your job until you find yourself on
an unemployment line; you never truly appreciate your parents until
they’re gone. America—the land of the free and the brave—is something
we simply cannot afford to take for granted?
Are you going to rollover to these poor performer lawyers and cemented
politicians or will you take a stance and demand business in
Washington? No more lawyers, no more career politicians—they cannot
do the job.
My name is Cleve Tidwell and I am running to represent the great
citizens of Colorado in the U.S. Senate. I am a U.S. Marine veteran,
an international businessman, and proud descendant of an American
Revolutionary patriot. Colorado, let’s show Washington how business
is done.
