Balance the Budget

Balance the Budget
When Davy Crocket spent time in Congress, he found the methods Congress used to manage money to be offensive to his personal principles and values. He stated, “We have the right as individuals to give away as much of our own money as we please in charity; but as members of Congress we have no right to appropriate a dollar of the public money.”

Cleve Tidwell stands on principle, understanding the importance of Government to protect and serve the people, on a balanced budget. His experience in business taught him frugal living, the true value of a dollar, and the importance of operating a business (or the Government) on a balanced budget.

“A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take away everything you have,” according to Thomas Jefferson.

“Jefferson and Crocket offer strength of values and strong basic principles which I believe stand strong as a fundamental foundation for balancing the budget.” Tidwell expands on the thought, “We must never become so large a government that we provide everything for the people, because first of all, the money Government collects does not belong to the congress, or senators. It belongs to the people. Next, a government so big that it supports all the people must own all that the people have. Not only did the founding fathers not create our government for that, but the people do not want a government that owns them.”

A balanced budget means that we cut back and pay off the debt. Then we cut the amount of government and decrease taxes until the people are keeping the majority of their money. Government doesn’t need all the extras. Once people are keeping their own money, instead of supporting an overzealous government, they’ll have the wealth and the freedom to accomplish greater goals.

Within the next two years, we must balance the budget and have a plan to pay off the total national debt within five to ten years. Cleve Tidwell has a plan.
